Distance variation between the voice source and microphone is always beyond control in field operations. MIC level control is difficult and even impossible in most cases resulting in clipping and poor recorded audio.
The Automatic Gain Control (AGC) function of PAW-120 acts as a limiter to keep the input signal within threshold by adjusting the gain automatically to prevent clipping. The ALC switch on the left side of PAW-120 can be activated manually as required.
